If you are an experienced, active person, visiting Reisa Lodge gives you endless opportunities to pursue your passions. Here is a list of self-guided activities you can do on your own. Just note that you’ll need your own gear, a vehicle, and a level of expertise to move safely in the wild. Here are the options.
Thanks to our location in a dark valley with no light pollution, Reisa Lodge is perfect for spotting the aurora. Enjoy the show from the rooftop jacuzzi, while skiing, hiking, or even from your bed inone of our scenic family rooms. You can hardly find a better place to see it so clearly, while being in the true Arctic wilderness, far from civilization.
Season: October – March
If you have your own snowmobile or are a passionate rider, Reisa Lodge is the ideal base camp. We are located in the middle of the best snowmobile tracks Northern Norway offers. Our private trail leads right to the lodge door. Contact us for details!
Season: December – April
Snowshoes are the key tool to explore the forests and canyons around Reisa Lodge. Our guests can borrow snowshoes from us, and we provide advice on routes for all difficulty levels.
Season: November – May
Reisa Lodge lies within one hour of Norway’s best sea-to-summit skiing mountains. Plus, just 15 min. away, right in our valley, you’ll find some the longest, most extreme couloirs in Northern Norway.

The nature in Reisadalen, together with the surrounding Finnmarksvidda and nearby Lyngenfjord, creates undoubtedly the most diverse and impressive part of Norway! The variety of different types of landscapes is truly mind-blowing.
In a small area, you can find every type of terrain Norway is known for—ideal for capturing stunning photographs.
Season: All year round activity
If you are searching for an ice climbing paradise, your search is now over. Reisa Valley offers incredible ice-climbing lines of all kinds of difficulties and shapes. From extremely difficult and remote giantic frozen waterfalls to easy but still cool beginner’s icefalls close to the lodge. No matter how experienced you are, you can have great fun ice climbing in Reisa.
